Welcome to Acquire's SECRET Sing-through
9th & 10th FEBRUARY 2019
As I am sure that you can imagine, the response to this particular show has been immense. We have received an incredible set of applications and this is set to be our biggest Sing-through yet. With limited space, our job has not been an easy one and we have been hard at work over the weekend allocating instrument parts and voicings. We have tried our best to ensure that there is a balance across all parts and that we have the opportunity to see some familiar faces and welcome plenty of new ones. In order to fully accept your place we would ask you to fill out one final Acceptance Form and submit the correct payment to us before the deadline on the 19th January.
Below is some important information that we need you to read thoroughly before we come together on the 9th February.
In the email you will find the full Band List including details of your instrument and part. With a show as big as this, I am sure you can appreciate how difficult this was to do and therefore we would appreciate it if you could let us know whether you intend to accept your place ASAP. You can do this by completing the Acceptance Form below.
Before you come to the Sing-through event on the 9th you will receive all of the sheet music for the songs you are involved in. Please note that we will be working with the 25th Anniversary version of the musical. You will also receive an Information Pack with details about the running of the weekend. You have a number of options regarding obtaining your Score for this Sing-through.
Physical copies of the score can be collected from us during our normal choir rehearsal in St. Andrews East Parish Church on Alexandra Parade on Monday 21st or 28th January between the hours of 7:30pm-10.oopm. Collecting your score will also ensure that any questions you have can be answered. If you have connections to our regular choir members and are happy for them to pick up materials of your behalf, please note this on the Acceptance Form.
If you cannot make it along to collect and require postage, please include your postal address in your response. Please note this will be an additional £5 to cover postage and packaging.
In order for us to plan our distribution of scores, we ask that you let us know your choice in the Acceptance Form below. This will make the process on our side much more straightforward when it comes to arranging materials accordingly.
After what is sure to be a jam-packed Sing-Through day one, we hope many of you will be able to join us for our Saturday evening Social; a chance to mingle with friends old and new and have some well-earned food and a wee tipple!

When: Saturday 9th February, 7:30pm until 12 midnight
How to get there: The Raven is in the city centre and therefore easy to access by public transport. Buchanan Street subway station, Queen Street and Central railway stations and various bus stops are all very close by!

We are delighted to have exclusive use of the upstairs space in The Raven, including our own private bar, hooray!
Due to limited places attendance at the social will be first-come, first served. Once we have received the payment, this will confirm your place.
Please confirm your place at our Sing-through Social by filling out the Acceptance Form and including the £8 buffet cost in your overall Sing-through payment.We ask that all Social payments are with us with us by Saturday 19th January so we can confirm final buffet numbers with our venue. Unfortunately we are not able to accept cash payments for the Social during the Sing-Through weekend itself.

In order for us to ensure that scores reach you safely and are returned to us safely at the end of the weekend, we ask that musicians pay a refundable £10 deposit. Furthermore, if you intend to join us at the Social (which we hope you do!) then please include this as part of your payment. A reminder that the Social cost is £8.

The final deadline for payment is the 19th January but it would be amazing if you could do this as quickly as possible so that we can fully confirm who we are working with and we could arrange for your score to reach you sooner. If you are now unable to attend, please do extend us the courtesy of letting us know quickly so that we can alter things accordingly (and then admit ourselves for psychiatric help at the thought of doing so!)
If in the unfortunate circumstance you are no longer able to attend the Sing-through weekend after accepting your place, please contact email@example.com as soon as possible so allowances can be made for redistribution of parts. Failure to let us know may affect your participation in future Sing-through events. We are unable to offer refunds after the payment deadline has passed on the 19th January.
A NOTE FROM THE CONDUCTOR
TIMINGS AND VENUE
The Sing-through will take place at The Fotheringay Centre, 57 Fotheringay Rd, Glasgow, G41 4NN. All musicians must be there for the entirety of the weekend.
All players are required from 10.00am on both days. Should you wish to come in earlier than these times for set-up, please contact us to arrange this. There may be additional time on the Friday evening. The complete Sing-through will take place around 3.00pm.
EQUIPMENT & CUTS
All instruments must be provided by the players themselves, with the exception of some percussion instruments. Music stands will be provided at the venue and any equipment you bring can be left overnight. However, we must stress that you are responsible for your own things and Acquire cannot accept any liability for damaged or stolen equipment/instruments. Please bring your score and a pencil.
As this show is extremely long, we have had to make some cuts to the score. These will be provided for you when you receive your score. We would ask you to mark the cuts in your scores before the weekend. Only light pencil is permitted, please make no other alterations to the score.
ATTENDING THE FINAL SING-THROUGH
We have agreed with the license holders that the Sunday afternoon sing through will be for the chorus and all associated with the administration for this project. Members of the public are not permitted to attend this and our position on this is final, so we would really appreciate it if you don’t ask us to make exceptions.
Our arrangement with the license holders on this occasion restricts us from putting any information whatsoever about the show on social media - before, during and after the sing-through; this includes any film or photography of the rehearsal material, mentioning of roles etc. I would really appreciate it if you could adhere to this request. The more we comply with the rules, the more likely it will be that we will get interesting titles for us to sing through.
